When our ship would dock, myself and my shipmates would spend the nights out drinking in the local towns and villages.
I began to notice something different, though, about one of my friends, Sheldon.
Unlike the rest of us, Sheldon didn’t go out and drink, didn’t complain—and he had an unshakable joy.
One day, I asked him, "Why are you different?"
That was the question that opened the door for him to share the Gospel with me for the first time.
In that moment, on a ship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, I met Jesus.
Sheldon and I started waking up at 4 AM, praying and worshiping in the ship’s chapel.
As months went by, the Holy Spirit spread through the ship like wildfire.
By the end of our tour, 63 sailors had given their lives to Christ!
When I returned home, I got plugged into a local church, met my wife, and had two beautiful daughters.
Now that I had discovered my creator, it was now time for me to discover why He created me.
